This is it!!! The InfoAnytime May Madness Finals are here!
Hearty congratulations to Groton Public Library and Henry Carter Hull
Library in Clinton!
VS
Yesterday's last day of semi-final competition was FIERCE! Capital
Community College and Wethersfield Library made tremendous gains and kept
the heat on Groton and Clinton (I think it is *actually* Finals time at CCC,
and there was a lot of 11th hour cramming going on!) So please give a huge
round of applause to our colleagues at these great libraries!
What were some of the reference questions asked?
How many people from CT served in combat during the Vietnam War? (high
school junior working on a paper)
Which camera is rated the best and most affordable digital camera currently?
(IAT virtual librarian assisted patron navigate iConn's Consumer Reports
database for the answer. The patron's response: (Customer): cool. i had no
idea you could search consumer reports for free through here. I will look at
the articles. Thanks a lot!" )
I would like to know when I will be getting my money from the irs, the extra
treat we are supposed to get from the government (9:30 Sunday night)
Is Mother's Day a Hallmark Card Holiday or was it begun long before
Hallmark?
What are the best deer resistant garden vegetables to plant?
How did the Democratic Party's Super Delegates come into being?
What is the deal with the forever stamp at the US Post Office?
All Libraries are still eligible to win the Best Transcript Category!
Just because we are down to two final libraries, doesn't mean the
competition is over for the other 169 InfoAnytime libraries! The Best
Transcript contest is still open and taking entries until May 16th. Look
over your library's transcripts, and fax your favorite to the CLC office
(860-344-9199) and you can win a Nintendo Wii. Call the CLC office or visit
www.infoanytime.org if you'd like a refresher on running your transcript
reports.
Best wishes to Groton and Clinton as they vie for the title!
And have fun reviewing your InfoAnytime transcripts for those entering the
Best Transcript category!
