CLC March 2008 Roundtables:
CLC's roundtables are a wonderful opportunity for people from different
libraries but with similar responsibilities and interests to come together
to share knowledge and ideas about a variety of professional topics. These
roundtables are open to all librarians regardless of geographic location or
job title!
CLC's Snow Policy (except where noted):
If school is delayed in the town hosting the event, the event will go on as
scheduled. If school is cancelled in the host town, the event will be
postponed to the snow date.
Children's Librarians' Roundtable: Northwest
Chair: Martie Smolka, Gunn Memorial Library, Washington
Fellow northwest Children's librarians will meet next on Monday, March 3 at
Oliver Wolcott Library, Litchfield (snowdate: March 10th - Please refer to
Litchfield Schools for cancellations and delays.) All meetings will have
coffee, tea and refreshments provided at 9:30 with the meeting to begin at
10:00. In the event of snow, check with the hosting library's school system
for cancellations (in which we will cancel) or delays (in which we will
delay the meeting to 11:00).
Technology Roundtable
Co-chairs: Nancy Haag, North Haven Memorial Library; and Julie Lee, Russell
Library, Middletown
The next Technology Roundtable will be held at the North Haven Memorial
Library on Friday, March 7 at 9:30 coffee, 10:00-11:30 roundtable
discussion. Please join us!
Young Adult Librarians' Roundtable: Capitol Region
Co-chairs: Ann Marie Naples, West Hartford Public Library and Chris Angeli,

YALR-CR meets next on Wednesday, March 12 at the Lucy Robbins Welles Library
in Newington for a discussion on your Summer Reading Program plans. Unless

Bring your ideas and suggestions when ILL-West meets next on Thursday, March
13 at the Easton Public Library (snow date: Thursday, March 20, 2008).
Sharon Brettschneider will speak about the CCAR delivery study that will be
taking place in April. Don't miss the May meeting when east meets west! Mark

Young Adult Librarians' Roundtable: Eastern CT
Would you like to chair this roundtable? Please contact Linda Williams at

Do you have ideas about your summer reading program? Come share them with
fellow librarians on Friday, March 14 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Mansfield
Library. This roundtable meets every other month on the second Friday of the
month at alternating times - 10am-noon or 1-3pm. Libraries will volunteer to
host the meetings and the hosting library will provide refreshments. Each
meeting will have a predetermined topic for discussion or presentations. For

Children's Librarians' Roundtable: South

This roundtable will meet on Monday, March 17 at 9:30 a.m at the Cheshire
Library for a discussion on the Intermediate 2009 Nutmeg Books. Please
contact Sue Hartley by February 29th with the Nutmeg book you would like to
discuss. Please bring suggestions for activities for your book.
Interlibrary Loan Roundtable East

ILL-E meets next on Tuesday, March 18 at the Acton Library in Old Saybrook
for an *afternoon* roundtable from 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm (snow date: Tuesday,
March 25, 1-3:30 pm). Sharon Brettschneider will speak about the CCAR
delivery study that will be taking place in April. Also on the agenda are
self-service ILL and workflow ideas. If you are interested in hosting an ILL

Find out what SAT PrepMe is all about at the next meeting of the YALR-W on
Wednesday, March 26 at the Bridgeport Public Library North Branch. There
will be some game systems for us to try out. Unless otherwise stated, all
meetings are on Wednesdays and feature coffee & networking at 9:30, program
from 10:00 to noon.
Services to Older Adults Roundtable (SOAR)

SOAR will meet next on Thursday, March 27 at the Middletown Library Service
Center. Do you have a burning topic to discuss? Suggestions for an upcoming
