CLC & the New Britain Rock Cats Announce the 8th Annual 

Reading Books In Summer (RBIS) Program!

 

The 2007 season was another record breaking year at New Britain Stadium!
And, once again, the New Britain Rock Cats invite your public library to
join in the fun and participate in their RBIS - Reading Books in Summer -
program.

 

What is the RBIS Program?

In its 8th year, the RBIS program continues to promote literacy by
increasing the incentive for children ages 5-12 to read.  Last year, close
to one hundred public libraries and over 40,000 children throughout
Connecticut participated.  Through RBIS, the Rock Cats reward young readers
with a voucher redeemable for a Reserved Seat to a Summer Reading
Recognition Night game at the New Britain Stadium.  A great complement to
any summer reading program!

 

The Rock Cats offer this program at no cost to your public library.  Each
participating public library will be given vouchers (redeemable for tickets)
for your summer reading program, allowing you to reward the children based
on your own criteria. Each voucher is redeemable for one (1) Child Reserved
ticket for one of the designated Summer Reading Recognition Nights at New
Britain Stadium this summer - August 4th, 5th & 6th.   Plus, a lucky
participant in the RBIS program from your library will have the opportunity
to throw out a ceremonial first pitch!  

 

In addition, Rocky the Rock Cat can visit your library.a purr-fect tie-in
for those participating. You'll be sure to hit a homerun with the Rock Cats
RBIS program - an excellent way to reward your summer reading participants!


  

Please print out this email, complete the form at the bottom, and fax to the
Rock Cats at 860-225-6267 by March 31, 2008 to be eligible for the program.
If you have any questions, or need additional information, please call the
Rock Cats at 860-224-8383.  All libraries responding "yes," by the March 31,
2008 deadline, will receive the vouchers and special Rock Cats bookmarks,
Rock Cats schedules, a poster, and an evaluation form. (Your library will
receive this material no later than June 6, 2008).
